Congratulations to Ms. Robin Schamach
Recipient of the 2020 Horizon Award

Skyline gives the Horizon Award to a person or organization that shows extraordinary support to Skyline's mission and programming. Ms. Schamach, a proud mother and grandmother, is a former professional Broadway dancer, actress and model.  As an original cast member in the Broadway show Sugar Babies, she was thrilled to work with Hollywood legends Mickey Rooney and Ann Miller for the run of the show, as well as with Ann Jillian, Peter Leeds, Joey Bishop, Anita Morris, Helen Gallagher, Carol Lawrence, Edie Bracken and Rip Taylor.  Her other stage credits included Broadway Salutes the New York City Opera at Lincoln Center’s State Theater as well as various Off Broadway and Summer Stock productions. Television credits included appearances on CBS’s Guiding Light and NBC’s Unicorn Tales.  A Magna Cum Laude graduate of Queens College with a degree in Theater and Dance, Robin is also a Certified Paralegal and is currently the Cultural Planner and assistant to the Borough Prosecutor for the Borough of Fair Lawn.

Congratulations to Ms. Jasmyn Lee
2020 Harry K. Berkheiser Jr. Scholarship winner!

Skyline Theatre Company bestows this annual award to a worthy Bergen County high school student pursuing an education in the arts.
Jasmyn, a Teaneck resident, recently graduated from Bergen County Academies within the Academy of Visual and Performing Arts. She interned weekly for a startup media company in New York that focuses on racial injustice and advocacy for the LGBTQ community and works as a dance teacher for young performers ages 3-11 in jazz and ballet. Ms. Lee has been dancing most of her life and has been a part of a junior dance company which performed in different cities for showcases and conventions. Jasmyn will proudly be attending Howard University in Washington D.C. under a Communications major with a focus on TV and film.

Skyline is so grateful to have been honored with a 2019 Innovator Award at the 11th annual Excellence in Cultural Access Awards ceremony presented by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and The New Jersey Theatre Alliance at Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton NJ on Thursday July 27th for our work on the musical A Thousand Faces during the 2018 Stages Festival. Working with Access Coordinator Laura Brecheen, our brilliant deaf actors and ASL interpreters on the project, we did groundbreaking work in the area of access in theatre and were recognized for it!
ArtPride New Jersey, Inc. provides leadership to teams of citizen activists visiting US Congress and NJ District Legislators. Each spring a group of arts advocates gather in Washington, DC with ArtPride New Jersey, Inc. to coordinate visits to all NJ congressional offices. State district visits occur year long to familiarize elected officials with arts related issues and the positive impact that the nonprofit arts industry has on communities throughout the state.
New Jersey Theatre Alliance unites, promotes, strengthens, and cultivates New Jersey’s professional theatres. We advance the theatre community by developing innovative, collaborative, and engaging programs and services for member theatres and their diverse audiences.
