The Theatre Technician will assist the Senior Technical Coordinator in running of Ciccone and Lab theatres. This position will support and assist in the coordination and execution of all the technical work needed for theatre productions and other events housed in the theatre facilities including lighting, sound and set construction. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to assisting with the technical phases of productions in the Theatre including the use of all power tools, lighting and sound equipment, rigging and scenery; assisting with the general technical operation of the Theatre during performances including the operation of lighting and sound equipment as well as ensuring the safety of the public and cast; assisting with the build, load-in and load-out of college productions and helping supervise student crews including working closely with students in preparing and running of student productions to include set construction, rigging of theatrical lighting, sound equipment, installations and all necessary procedures for mounting student productions; maintaining the theatre inventory including the updating of the Theatre’s computerized inventory of materials and arranging for replacement; assisting with the repair and maintenance of all the equipment including the cleaning and aligning of all lighting instruments, repairing and cleaning all shop power tools, preventative maintenance on both the sound and lighting system and updating the maintenance log that is kept on all theatre equipment; supporting all other activities taking place in the theatre facilities and performing any other duties or tasks as may be assigned.
·         Bachelor’s Degree is required in Drama or Theatre Arts; MFA in Theatre preferred
·         A minimum of two years of technical theatre experience is required. Backstage theatre technician experience required; specialist in technical theatre preferred
·         Must be familiar or become familiar with all codes pertaining to the theatre operation, i.e., fire code and electrical code
·         Theatre production skills including carpentry, rigging, lighting, sound reinforcement, scenic art and all aspects of theatre required
·         Exhibit strong skills in communication, customer and student focus, building relationships, organizing and planning
·         Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
·         Excellent attention to detail and completes work with high degree of accuracy
·         Must be driven to provide excellent customer service with ability to handle inquiries of diverse and multicultural students, staff, faculty and visitors with sensitivity and diplomacy
·         Must be willing and able to adjust scheduled work hours any day of the week when necessary
·         Must be able to work at heights of 25’ in lift
·         Must be able to work at heights of 60’ above theatre deck
·         Must be able to climb steel pipe frame 30’ off theatre floor with a harness
·         Must be able to carry 50 pounds

Skyline Welcomes new Managing Director - Stephanie Simons Neal

Skyline is thrilled to welcome Ms. Stephanie Simons Neal as our new Managing Director! 
Stephanie, who will maintain her role as the company's Resident Stage Manager, succeeds Victoria Sollecito, who remains on staff and becomes Skyline's first Development Director. Stephanie has more than 20 years of experience working with New Jersey amateur and professional theatres, including the last three working with Skyline Theatre Company in various roles and on multiple productions and special events. In addition to stage management responsibilities and many other backstage roles, she has worked with and volunteered for theatre companies on special events, fund raising and audience development projects. She also volunteers with a dog rescue transport group bringing adoptable dogs to New Jersey. A native of Franklin Township, she currently resides in Fanwood with her husband and two rescued dogs.

Skyline Board President continues through 2016-2017 season

Skyline is thrilled to announce that Board President and Broadway star Michele McConnell will be staying on through the 2016-2017 season. Michele is currently starring on Broadway as Carlotta in The Phantom of the Opera! She has also toured the US in Camelot w/Robert Goulet, starred with NYGASP at City Center (Mabel, Pirates; Josephine, Pinafore), the DiCapo Opera, Disney's Beauty and the Beast (Montreal/Las Vegas), The Mobile Opera, Missouri Symphony, The San Diego Repertory, San Diego Chamber Orchestra, Totem Pole Playhouse, Sacramento Music Circus,  Peter Grey Terhune Presents.  Original Broadway cast recording: Anna Karenina, and numerous recordings for Hal Leonard Publishing via Aireborn Recordings.  Michele has traveled to over 115 countries performing on luxury cruise ships with her husband, baritone Duane McDevitt and is a 2010 Bistro Award winner.
