Harry K. Berkheiser, Jr.  Scholarship

The Harry K. Berkheiser Jr. Scholarship is awarded to a Bergen County high school senior who has a true passion for and will be furthering his/her higher education in Theatre, Film, Television, or Communications.  Named for educator and founding Skyline member, the late Harry K. Berkheiser, Jr., this monetary scholarship is intended for students who show a true commitment and dedication to these branches of the arts.
The $1,000 cash scholarship is awarded annually each spring at Skyline's annual gala. To apply for the 2019 scholarship please download and fill out the form below and submit via email - or via US mail to Skyline Theatre Company 12-45 River Road, #121, Fair Lawn NJ 07410. The deadline is March 15, 2019.

The 2018 Harry K. Berkheiser Scholarship winner is Michelle C. Yu. She is a young artist establishing her presence in multiple creative fields. Born in China and raised in New Jersey, her creative work draws from her multi-cultural upbringing and life experiences. Her films and music have been recognized in more than 30 film and music competitions and festivals. She is a National Gold Medalist in Writing from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards and a National YoungArts Foundation Merit Winner in Cinematic Arts. Her original song, “Into the Light,” won the Grand Prize in the Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey ShoutDownDrugs Music Competition and first place in the Teen Category of the Hollywood Songwriting Competition and American Songwriting Awards. Currently, Michelle is a 2017-2018 Tribeca Film Fellow and an Assistant Editor for Academy Award®-nominee Christine Choy. In the past, she was selected for the Future Artist Dramatic Writing and Filmmaker Program sponsored by New York University Tisch School of the Arts.

Thomas C. Arthur Scholarship

The Thomas C. Arthur Scholarship, named for STC’s first outstanding apprentice, is awarded to a Skyline Theatre Company apprentice who shows tremendous dedication to Skyline, maturity, focus, and growth as a young artist. It consists of a $500 cash award and is given out when the Apprentice Program produces a worthy recipient.
